Meet the Current Board
Past-President: Ansley Taylor Loveless, Ph.D.
Dr. Loveless is excited to serve in the role of NAPA’s Past-President this year! Originally from South Carolina, she received her doctoral degree from East Carolina University and then completed her 2-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at the Salem VA Medical Center in Salem, VA. She subsequently moved to the Nashville area in the fall of 2021 and founded Middle Tennessee Neuropsychological & Behavioral Medicine Services, a private geriatric neuropsychology practice serving middle-aged and older adults within the Nashville metro area. When not seeing patients, Dr. Loveless enjoys baking, ballroom dancing (favorite style: Carolina shag), and traveling with her husband.

President: Amy Mariaskin, Ph.D.
Dr. Amy Mariaskin is excited to serve as NAPA President for the 2024 year. She is a licensed clinical psychologist and Founding Director of the Nashville OCD and Anxiety Treatment Center in Brentwood, TN. She works with individuals with OCD, anxiety, and OC spectrum disorders across the lifespan, providing both individual and group treatment. Dr. Mariaskin is passionate about working with children, families, and couples as well as serving individuals in the LGBTQ+ community. She is the author of the book Thriving in Relationships with OCD, published with New Harbinger Publications in 2022. Additionally, she is active in training and serves as faculty for the International OCD Foundation’s Behavioral Treatment Training Institute and as adjunct faculty at Vanderbilt University. Outside of work, Amy enjoys swimming, writing, creative plant-based meals, and all things canine.

President-Elect: Amanda Mendez, Psy.D.
Dr. Mendez is excited to serve in the role of NAPA’s President-Elect this year! Originally from California, she received her doctoral degree from Loma Linda University, completed her internship and post-doctoral fellowship in San Diego at Sharp Mesa Vista and San Diego Center for Children, respectively. She subsequently moved to Nashville in the fall of 2021 and found her clinical home at Nashville Neuropsychology & Family Services. Dr. Mendez enjoys working with individuals from early childhood to college-aged, and older adults. She is also passionate about working with parents to transform their relationship with their children through evidence-based treatments. Dr. Mendez delivers brief and long-term therapy focusing on values-based principles and theoretical frameworks including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ("ACT"). Outside of work, she enjoys trying new restaurants in Nashville, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband.

Treasurer: James "Gunner" Goodlad, Ph.D.
Dr. James “Gunner” Goodlad will be serving as treasurer of NAPA this year. Gunner practices as a clinical psychologist at Southeast Psych Nashville, a group practice in Brentwood, TN. He received his degree in clinical psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2014, and he completed his internship and postdoctoral fellowship at The University of Alabama-Birmingham’s Civitan-Sparks Clinics. Gunner conducts assessments for children and adolescents to answer questions about learning, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorder. He also sees a few kids and teens to work on emotion regulation, managing ADHD symptoms, and building social skills. Outside of psychology, Gunner enjoys working out and doing a lot of geeky stuff, like reading comics and collecting vintage video games.
Secretary: Hillary Freshley, Psy.D.
As one of our newest NAPA board members, Dr. Hillary Freshley is thrilled to be serving as the secretary for 2024. Dr. Freshley is a licensed clinical psychologist at the Nashville OCD & Anxiety Treatment Center (NOATC) in Brentwood, TN. She has a passion for providing highly individualized evidence-based treatment for OCD, anxiety, and related disorders. Dr. Freshley received her degree in Clinical Psychology from Spalding University (Louisville, KY). She completed her predoctoral internship at the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System and postdoctoral training at the NOATC. Dr. Freshley currently serves as a clinical supervisor for the Vanderbilt Clinical Psychology PhD program. Outside of her clinical work, some of Hillary’s pastimes include painting, DIY home projects, and trying not to kill her house plants. She loves spending time with her husband, family, friends, and 14-year-old Beagle mix, Lucie!

Camille is a PhD student in the Vanderbilt University Clinical Psychological Science program. Her research focuses on risk factors for psychopathology, such as early adversity and familial/environmental factors that influence internalizing symptoms in youth. Camille received her bachelor's degree in psychology and English from Vanderbilt University in 2020. She is excited to serve as the NAPA student representative for 2024.
